Rural Development at Swavesey

Parrott Constructions have beaten off stiff opposition to win a prestigious design and build project in a picturesque Cambridgeshire village.

“We are delighted to have been successful, it just goes to show what a great team we have here at Parrotts and we look forward to getting started with this project” said Parrott Construction’s MD Chris Layram.

The commission, awarded by South Cambridgeshire District Council is to design and construct a brand new 20-dwelling facility in the rural village of Swavesey.  The site will consist of 16 two-and-three bedroomed houses and four flats which when complete will all be available to existing local residents.

“We understand the location, the needs of the residents and the sensitivity of building in rural areas” added Chris Layram.  “We are committed to minimising the environmental impact of our activities and our staff, suppliers and operatives will work with the local people to deliver this project efficiently and with great care and attention to detail.”

This construction project - which is due to commence in June this year after site preparation works have been completed – significantly adds to Parrott’s growing reputation for building high-quality Rural Exception sites.

Parrott Construction look forward to working closely with the project team, consisting of: Henry Riley as Employers Agent; Sherwood Architects and Richard Jackson Engineers. The properties are due for completion in early 2016.
