Peterborough housing handed over to Cross Keys Homes

All at Parrott Construction are celebrating handing over 28 new houses to Cross Keys Homes.  The project at Park Lane, Peterborough comprised a mixture of two and three bedroom houses.

The scheme achieved Code for Sustainable Homes Level 3, which will result in lower running costs for the residents and has also been certified as ‘Secure by Design’.

The contract was carried out under the “Partnering Contract” PPC 2000.

The development features the first permeable road built for adoption under a Section 38 Agreement for Peterborough City Council Highways and has received close scrutiny throughout the construction process.

While Parrott Construction have constructed numerous private roads using similar methods, there were challenges all round in educating contractors and engineers alike in the fine detail that is needed to produce an adoptable version.

A short film on how effective our sustainable drainage system worked is available to view here;

In the video a site dumper discharges a bucketful of water, which can be seen to drain away into the road before it reaches the onlookers, including Parrott Construction’s Site Manager and Highways Engineers.
