Parrott Construction nominated as finalists for LABC Building Excellence Awards

Parrott Construction is delighted to be nominated as finalists, for the second year running, for the Central Region 2016 LABC Building Excellence Awards which is being held in Milton Keynes on Friday 22nd April 2016.

 

Biggleswade Road, Upper Caldecote

Our rural housing project located at Biggleswade Road in the Bedfordshire village of Upper Caldecote was nominated in the category of ‘Best Social or Affordable New Housing Development’.  The project, built for our partner client Grand Union Housing Group, continues Parrott’s tradition of producing exceptional rural developments in Bedfordshire villages.

Biggleswade Road, Upper Caldecote comprises seven 2 and 3 bedroom houses and three 2 bedroom bungalows. They are Level 5 on the Code for Sustainable Homes, making them highly efficient and ecologically friendly.

 

Paul’s Square, Bedford

Parrott Construction have also been nominated for a second project within the same category; the transformation of a cluster of once derelict buildings located at 1-4 St Paul’s Square in Bedford into 10 comfortable, modern and affordable flats, funded  by the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA), Bedford Borough Council, and the Townscape Heritage Initiative (THI).

The historic buildings situated in the heart of the town centre date back to 1460 and had been left vacant for almost 40 years.

Parrott Construction were justifiably proud to have been chosen as main contractors for this prestigious refurbishment of these listed buildings and took great delight in handing the keys back to Aldwyck Housing Group.
