Progress and Completions

Housing Refurbishments across the Home Counties

We have been busy carrying out whole house refurbishments in the Home Counties for our client Thrive Housing Association. The project, which consisted of gutting and completely refurbishing 24 properties at various locations, was worth approximately £1.5M. Works consisted of; re-wiring, re-plumbing, plastering, minor structural alterations, decoration and flooring, together with external works and drainage, and were mainly carried out by our directly employed tradesmen, supplemented by specialist subcontract trades.

Conversion of former gym in Corby

In Corby, Northamptonshire, we are carrying out the conversion of a former gym into five single-storey adapted homes, including two that will be fully wheelchair accessible. We have taken over the works after the previous contractor ceased trading, with the building partly demolished.  Our client for this project is North Northamptonshire Council.

Works are progressing well; we have now stabilised the structure, built new walls, installed new concrete ground floors and will shortly be replacing the roof coverings.  The works are anticipated to be complete by Mid July and we cannot wait to see them occupied. The development will provide five much needed adapted properties whilst also bringing back into use a derelict building, which had been empty for some time.

Re-development of former office building in Peterborough

Work is underway, on behalf of our client Deafblind UK, to redevelop a former office building into purpose built high dependency accommodation for people who are deafblind with additional needs.  The works at Deafblind UK’s headquarters in Peterborough are due for handover mid March 2024.

The works consisted of; demolition, new window and door openings, underfloor heating, new floors and partitions, mechanical and electrical installation, finishes works and external works and drainage. Works are currently progressing well and we look forward to completion of the two specifically designed self-contained supported living flats to enable people with combined sight and hearing loss to live independently within the wider community.
