PARROTT CONSTRUCTION RECEIVE ‘HIGHLY COMMENDED’ AWARD

Parrott Construction Ltd were delighted to receive ‘Highly Commended’ at the 24housing awards, in the category of ‘Best Green Scheme’ for their 13 home development built to the Passivhaus standard in Sharnbrook, Bedfordshire, for their client Hastoe Housing Association.

The 24housing awards, which are held annually, took place on October 18th 2018 at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry, with 14 individual and team awards being given out to a range of categories. The event was particularly celebratory as it coincided with Parrott Construction’s 50^th Anniversary milestone – 18^th October 1968.

Picking their Highly Commended and Winners from the strongest shortlist to date after another record number of entries ensuring that the 24housing awards really did celebrate the best of the best

Our scheme consisted of the Design and Construction of 13 dwellings, comprising a combination of two and three bedroomed houses and flats for rental, shared ownership and market sale.

The Passivhaus Standard is characterised by very high energy savings compared with conventional new builds, helping to reduce energy generation whilst also delivering considerable savings on utility bills. This is achieved by means of highly efficient building systems and components together with careful planning.

Both Parrott Construction and Hastoe Housing Association were delighted with the end product, which delivered low carbon, comfortable, efficient and sustainable homes, utilising more carbon efficient and greener practices, thereby contributing to the need to protect our planet, reduce the rising energy gap and work towards a lower carbon future.
