40 Years Old

On Friday 17th October 2008 we held our 40th Anniversary Reception at the Swan Hotel in Bedford. The venue there was the Coach Room which overlooks the River Great Ouse and this provided an excellent setting for our guests.

The reception was very well attended by over 150 people including local MP’s, the Mayor of Bedford and local councillors, our clients past and present, family and friends and of course our employees who without their work, loyalty and devotion we would not have achieved this 40 year milestone.

Melvyn made a most interesting and entertaining speech welcoming our guests and reminding us of some of the more prestigious jobs that we have carried out over the years, including the work we did many years ago at Woburn Abbey. On a sad note, Melvyn announced that due to the present challenging situation we have had to give notice to a few employees, this is always a very difficult thing to have to do and Melvyn thanked those people particularly for their loyalty and service.

The rest of the evening continued with everyone enjoying a very nice buffet, a few drinks and much lively conversation. Among the many Parrott family guests it was lovely to see Mrs Parrott enjoying herself chatting to some of the staff and guests. No doubt many will remember the old days when she would bring round the tea! It was great that she was well enough to attend.
