National Housing Awards 2018

Celebrating Excellence

Parrott Construction Ltd are delighted to have been nominated as Finalists at the National Housing Awards 2018 in three separate categories:

1.   Best Small Scheme in Planning (30 units or less)

The Causeway in Carlton, Bedfordshire, a residential re-development which is currently underway for our client Bushmead Homes, has been praised as an outstanding example of considerate, well researched and needs-focused planning. A development that will consist of 10 properties for outright sale and 8 affordable properties constructed in the heart of a thriving community-focused village, which will be built with a comprehensive understanding of local need and a pledge to ensure environmental sustainability. Due for completion September 2019.

2.  Most Innovative Home Ownership Solution

Astrop Grange, Kings Sutton, developed on behalf of our client Grand Union Housing Group, is made up of 10 two-bedroomed shared ownership apartments, offering retirement living for the over 55 age range, in a traditional style country home on the site of a former Georgian manor house.

3.  Best Design

Sharnbrook Passivhaus Development, a rural exception site, built on behalf of our client Hastoe Housing Association, comprises 13 homes – 5 shared ownership, 4 outright sales and 4 affordable rented. Constructed to the innovative Passivhaus standard, an ultra-low energy design that builds affordability in the fabric of the building, thereby significantly reducing annual fuel bills.

The Awards Ceremony took place on 6th September at the prestigious Grosvenor House Hotel in London.

The competition this year was particularly tough and we are very proud to have been shortlisted as finalists of these highly respected Awards in celebration of the sector’s achievements and specifically the achievements of Parrott Construction and their clients.
