Building Excellence Awards finalists 2015

Parrotts were delighted to be nominated as finalists in two categories at The Building Excellence Awards held in Milton Keynes on Friday 24th April 2015.

Our rural housing project at Sandy Road, Everton was nominated in the category of ‘Best Social or Affordable New Housing Development’.  The project, built for our partner client Grand Union Housing Group, continues Parrott’s tradition of producing exceptional rural developments in Bedfordshire villages.

Dave Lakin, Head of New Business and Development said “It is a great achievement when one of our key local building contractors is shortlisted for an award.

“We believe in delivering good quality homes that people can afford.  GUHG build new homes in Bedfordshire, Milton Keynes and South Northamptonshire in areas of housing need, which includes building in villages to enable local people access to affordable homes where they have grown up or have a family connection”.

The Roods in Everton is a rural exception site built for people with a local connection to Everton, and benefitted from £290,000 grant funding under the Homes & Communities Agency’s (HCA) Affordable Homes Programme (AHP).

The development consists of eight properties, a mixture of shared ownership and affordable rent, made up of two and three bed houses, one bed maisonettes and a two bed bungalow.

Parrotts were also nominated by Central Bedfordshire Council Building Control for the “Best Local Builder or Traditional Craftsperson”; quite an achievement when the geographical area includes Beds, Bucks, Herts, Northants, Oxfordshire and Berkshire.

Chris Layram, MD of Parrott Construction said “It is a great achievement to be nominated for these awards which show our commitment to continuing to produce high quality housing and working in partnership with both our Clients and Local Authorities”.
